Clarifications from previous lecture:
- I still don't know if x86 CLI/STI affects software interrupts that simulate hardware interrupts, but I can state with authority that they don't affect software interrupts with higher interrupt numbers.
The correct spelling of the x86 "long jump" instruction is ljmp.
- Assignment 2 will in fact be running mostly in 32-bit protected mode, just not using any memory protection or ring 0/ring 3 stuff.
